Mrs. Amberson, BSW, LPC, and Ed.S.
Mrs. Amberson is our guidance counselor at WWES.
I serve our students by teaching guidance classes, facilitating small groups, and speaking with students individually as needs arise. I work with families on connecting you with resources, as well as being an advocate for you and your student at the school. We work together as a team to provide your students with the emotional and social supports needed to ensure the best educational experience possible! I come with a varied background of social work experience, having worked in child welfare and with children with developmental and intellectual disabilities and their families. As a counselor, I maintain my LPC license and have a background in addiction, marriage counseling, and play therapy experience. I went on to graduate from Jacksonville State University (all 3 degrees!) with my Educational Specialist degree to better prepare me for what I get to do here. I love that every job I had prior to coming to Wellborn prepared me to be a part of this family! This is my 3rd year at Wellborn, and I have fallen in love with this community. My husband and I have enjoyed seeing our three children grow in many ways since we have all become Wellborn Panthers! Please let me know if there is anything I can assist you with by contacting me at (256)741-7507, or email at [email protected].
Please help us create the most comprehensive guidance program, specific for our students at Wellborn Elementary. By taking this quick survey, you will help us make it the best it can be!

How are you feeling today?Ask your child about their day....engage them in questions, and listen to their responses! They need you to be present, more than they need presents!
